Wonderland Fashion

On the sixth day of Splintered, we crash a holiday celebration at Morpheus’s eccentric mansion. Black-and-white stripes cover the windowless dining hall, from the walls to the floor to the ceilings. Chameleon waiters—colored like zebras—blend into the background, distinguishable only by the trays of food and drinks balanced on their claws.  It’s an optical illusion extravaganza!

An enchanted harp plays in the corner without a harpist, songs that inspire more madness than merrymaking. Morpheus isn’t here yet. Perhaps he wants to be fashionably late. But you can rest assured he’ll be donning something both gloomy and debonair, much like this ensemble:

And if Jeb and Alyssa happen to be around, Morpheus will be choosing Wonderland-worthy attire for them, much like the outfits he insisted they wear at a similar party in one warped and disturbing scene of Splintered:

Morpheus only invites the most wild and barbaric guests to his parties. They serve neither the Red nor Ivory palaces, and have loyalties only to themselves. That would explain why no one seems to care that the Flower Fae failed to RSVP.  Or it could be that no one expected them to come, since they live on the other side of the Ocean of Tears.

We’ll head over there tomorrow with The Mod Podge Bookshelf, just to make sure nothing is amiss. Rumor has it there will also be an excerpt of the book posted for anyone brave enough to stop by
